Motorola Droid Razr Deals

Motorola Droid Razr ReviewThe Motorola Droid Razr couples Android OS 2.3 performance with the sleek stylish Razr brand name relaunch for a comfortable and extremely capable mobile. The old “Razr” models were, frankly more style than substance, but that certainly is not the case with this new “Droid” version, running the Gingerbread OS at 1.2 GHz from dual core processors, the Razr can multitask with very little lag. At 7.1mm (0.28 inches) thick, the Razr is the thinnest Smartphone in the Motorola line and, possibly, overall.  Behind that new 4.3 inch super AMOLED screen though, Motorola has packed this ultrathin mobile with preloaded apps to satisfy business, social and gaming users. Motorola has future proofed this mobile by ensuring it is upgradeable to the Android 4.0 OS in the next year.

Overview

The Motorola Droid Razr is solidly built; even though quite thin at 7.1mm. An internal stainless steel chassis and a Kevlar fibre back cover provide strength to this oddly shaped mobile. It is “Razr” thin overall with exception of the hump at the top housing the camera, speaker, input/output and earphone plugs. The mobile also features a water repellant nanocoat to withstand some liquid accidents, but it is not completely waterproof. Even with its thin form factor, at 127 grams the Motorola Droid Razr feels solid in the hand and in use.

As with other Motorola Smartphone’s the Droid Razr has a 4.3 inch qHD Gorilla Glass display running at 540 x 960p resolution. What is new for the Motorola Droid Razr is the replacement of the standard LCD display with a Super AMOLED panel. The display produces menus, icons and fine text that are quite readable, though you may find yourself shading the screen outdoors on sunny days.

For the social networker, the Motorola Droid Razr both deeply integrates the experience in its interface and also provides a social networking app to combine all your content and updates in one place. You will find all your updates and tweets in a single, nicely rendered 3D window panel display. Individual apps for your social networks are also available if you don’t find the centralization useful.

The Motorola Droid Razr is a dream in the Internet browsing arena. Close to providing a desktop browser experience, the Razr has no trouble with Flash video or animated content. If you can connect at the 4G speeds the Razr can handle, streaming audio and video content is virtually seamless. In the browser, the response to zoom and scroll is snappy and the renders are quite readable in the on screen renderings.

In the Motorola Droid Razr, an 8 MP main camera with LED flash is supplemented with a forward facing camera for video chat and the video recorder produces recorded content at full 1080p HD quality at 29fps. With the HDMI capable micro-HDMI port, your content can be screened on HD TVs with the right connector. The quality of the produced images and video is pretty average though.

If you are a business user looking for built in apps, Motorola preloads the Droid Razr with GoToMeeting and QuickOffice for your needs. Gamers will be interested in the Razr for the preloaded Let’s Golf 2 and Madden NFL 2012. Social networkers and media fans are not left out with preloaded apps for Netflix, IM, Amazon Kindle and quite a few others. As with all Androids there is the host of Google branded applications as well.

For a powerful, slim and stylish mobile, the Motorola Droid Razr delivers all around exceptional performance as a Smartphone with excellent call quality.
